Rebecca’s Inspiration

I watched a Lady Gaga special where she was interviewed by Jean-Paul Gaultier. In this interview, she discussed how she enjoys being able to constantly change who she is through fashion. She explained that her extreme outfits were not publicity stunts or a cry for attention but more a reflection of herself and her personalities. I loved that she said that because that’s exactly how I feel. Fashion is ever-changing, but the beauty lies in how different statement pieces express a part of who you are – sometimes even bring out a side of you that you didn’t know you had. Shoes do that for me. I could wear the same jeans and tee-shirt every day and change only my shoes to reflect my personality, my emotion, my life.

Journalism. Magazines. TV. Music. They’ve all played a part in developing my sense of fashion. My shoes have just been a part of the ride, but this blog is my tribute to my own personal style and interests. It is also giving me the opportunity to really educate myself on designers, design groups, magazines, celebrities. Fashion is beautiful, and every design or line has its own purpose. I admire everyone working in the fashion industry because they are so passionate about what they are doing. They absolutely love, adore, breathe fashion and all of its entities.

A brief history of Rebecca’s life… in shoe photos!

High Heel Cleats

Awesome high heel cleats that I would totally rock if I still played softball… and may just wear them to one of my friend’s games.

Ballet Flats Made Out Of Newspaper

These ballet flats are made out of recycled newspaper … my representation for “journalism” which I studied in high school and college and am very passionate about.

Elon University Rainboots

I started my college career at Elon University in NC, but transferred after only one semester. It just wasn’t my style – much like these boots.

Temple socks

I transferred to Temple University, which brought me back to the great city of Philadelphia.

McQueen shoes with wings

These are Alexander McQueen shoes… what I like to call my “I believe I can fly” shoes

Baby Shoes Socks

These are adorable baby socks that look like shoes because babies that small shouldn’t wear shoes… and I totally bought some when my son was born! He’s two now and they don’t fit anymore :( But now we get to buy him real shoes which is lots of fun!

Dog Wearing Shoes

I used to work as a Buyer for an online pet food company. Yup, that’s a dog wearing shoes. Enough said.

Wedding Shoes

Google Shoes

These are Google shoes… which represents my short lived career in SEO… but also now represents my life as a blogger and trying to get listed in Google search results for terms like “shoes” “awesome shoes” “great shoes” “amazing shoes” and of course “greatest shoe bloggers of all time”
