Celebrity Stylist Anita Patrickson

Anita Patrickson is a celebrity stylists who has a worldly background that gives her an eclectic sense of style. She has used her fashionable sense to style some of the top celebrities in the world on the covers of magazines everywhere, including working at the Assistant West Coast Editor for Allure magazine. As a freelance stylist, she has worked with Target, Nike and even Rolex, but now… she’s working for you! One of Anita’s newest projects is being a celebrity curator on OpenSky, supplying you with all of her favorite fashions. I could lie and make up something super fabulous…. but…. I’m wearing some vintage (nice way of saying really really old and ratty) metallic blue low top Converse….. I have a love of old school classic sneakers. I have one pair that I still wear that I’ve had since I was 15!! Is that weird?? I do put them in the washing machine once a month!

If I am looking for something really specific and I don’t have time to go directly to the designer I’ll go to a department store (Barney’s/Neimans/Saks). They have such a huge array that I’m bound to find what I’m looking for or some variation there of. But if I am just browsing and not looking for anything in particular I prefer to go to a smaller boutique that I love and feel a connection with. I’m better with less craziness and less choice! (maybe because on a day to day I am surrounded by rack upon rack of clothing and boxes and boxes of shoes, I like to have someone else narrow down the choice for me every once in a while!)

All time favorite trend…. hmmm, that’s such a tricky one! Fabulously high sexy stiletto booties or really gorgeous summery gold sandals go a long way with me. I have way too many of both!!

I am spoiled in that I get to play around with fabulous shoes and see all the trends way before they hit stores, so I get an ‘inside scoop’ of what’s going to last trend wise and what I think is worth investing in….. this definitely helps curtail a few mistake purchases.

Oh fun question!! I think we’re seeing a lot of ‘additions’ being added to shoes at the moment. A lot of cool wings on sneakers and Prada adding on the little rockets. So I’d hazard a guess at that being taken a step further. OR we’ll be reverting right back to styles from the 1600′s or something crazy and random like that.

There is absolutely zero reason that you can’t look completely fabulous on a smaller budget! Your shoes might not last as long but then you can also buy a really crazy ‘on trend’ pair without the guilt that you are splurging on something you may only wear a couple times. There are also plenty of stores that do a knock off version of a YSL or Christian Louboutin or an Atwood so just be on the look out for those, they may not have a red sole but will do the trick just fine!

I hope to bring in some really cool fabulous items that don’t break the bank. I’d love everyone to be excited about getting dressed in the morning. To be inspired by what mood they were in rather than feel overwhelmed and stuck in a rut about their wardrobe!
