The daughter of former President of Macy’s North East, Suze was destined for the fashion industry, and boy has she fulfilled it. She started her career working in publicity for Georgio Armani, then moved to Vogue, Elle, Marie Claire, and finally to Glamour! She has also appeared on The Oprah Winfrey Show, The Today Show, Good Morning America, The View, Live with Regis & Kelly, and Access Hollywood, to name a few. I DIE FOR A NEW PAIR OF SHOES EVERY DAY, BUT I LIKE TO TRY THEM ON – LORD AND TAYLOR HAS AN AMAZING SHOE DEPT WHERE MOST ARE UNDER $200, SO I FEEL LIKE A KID IN A CANDY STORE THERE!
What is your all time favorite shoe trend?
THE NUDE POINTY TOE SLING BACK WITH EXPOSED TOE CLEAVAGE… NOT ON A PLATFORM BUT ON THE HIGHEST HEEL EVER. IT TRULY IS THE MOST FLATTERING SHOE IN THE WORLD. ANKLE STRAPS MAKE THE CALFS LOOK FAT AND TOO CLUNKY LOOKS CHEAP.
How has your past and current experience in fashion made you an expert shoe shopper?
I STARTED AT VOGUE MAGAZINE IN THE ACCESSORIES DEPT, AND I PRACTICALLY LIVED IN THE SHOE CLOSET FOR THREE YEARS. I WOULD GO TO TRADE SHOWS ALL OVER THE WORLD AND REDESIGN EVERYONES SHOES FOR THE FASHION CLOSET AT ELLE AND MARIE CLAIRE. I EVEN WENT ON A TRIP PAID FOR BY THE ITALIAN TRADE COMMISSION TO LEARN AND WATCH HOW ITALIAN SHOES ARE MADE. WHEN IT COMES TO SHOES, I KNOW A STAR WHEN I SEE ONE!
What do you think the shoe styles will be like in 2020?
IT IS MORE WHAT I HOPE THEY WILL BE. I WOULD LIKE TO SEE A TREND IN ORTHOPEDIC STILETTOS I ACTUALLY KNOW A GREAT SHOE SURGEON (see video below), AND SHOES THAT CAN GO FROM FLAT TO 5″ WITH A REMOTE CONTROL. ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE.
